Martin says "I
can't believe it but I had been previously unaware of this particular
model, love the name, love the design and the build quality, (I'm
quite a fan of "made in Japan" guitars - great value for money). I
tried it on a session but it wouldn't quite give me what I was after -
not the instruments fault but mine - I play with a pick and the "Jazz
Bass" style pick ups were just too clickey. I see a lot of guys fit em
up with EMG p/u - I would guess that would sound
real good. This is definitely what I would describe as a sexy instrument
and I was very tempted by it but ended up back with my trusty old
Thunderbird that will probably have to come with me when I leave for the big
gig in the sky, so much part of my body has it become. The Ibanez Black Eagle
reminded me a little bit of the old British Burns guitars from the 60s -
they were good but very heavy - you needed a visit to the osteopath to get yer bones straightened after a gig. Yes, I'm very pleased to have
discovered the Ibanez Black Eagle and I'm sure we'll get together again
soon. Cheers",
